Manual Handling for Leaders
Assess manual handling tasks, choose the right controls, design risk out of the job, coach safe technique, and sign your team off with the Manager Observation Record.
Builds on the learning outcomes of NZQA Unit Standard 17459. Workplace training, not an NZQA assessment.
Manual handling is one of the biggest sources of injury in New Zealand workplaces, and your frontline leaders are best placed to prevent it. This course equips supervisors, team leaders and health and safety reps to design safer work and verify that their people handle loads safely. Going beyond safe lifting, leaders learn to assess tasks, choose the right controls, and design manual handling out of the job wherever they can. The leadership content is built on New Zealand and Australian manual handling best practice, not just the local minimum.
